General: The Ethiopian Journal of Education and Sciences publishes Original and Review articles. Authors should strictly adhere to the format provided below when organizing their manuscrpit for submission. Good language use, referencing styles (both in-text citation and reference listing), propoer use of punctualtions and all other editorial issues should be strictly respected.
Manuscripts for Original Articles should follow the format: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Result, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, References. Do not number the headings; use bold fonts for the headings instead.
Cover page: Title, author(s) name, academic status and address; date/year
Abstract: in a separate page not exceeding 250 words, describing the study site, population, objectives, study and sampling designs, conclusion and recommendation.
Introduction: a concise background and lietrature review of the study that clealry justifies the problem of the study and defines objectives the research.
Materials and Methods: includes population and site, study and sampling designs, methods and instruments of data collection, analysis and ethical issues.
Results: should present the major findings of the study, text, tables, figures of only important observations; not more than seven tables and figures.
Discussion: is to elaborate important aspects of the study relating it to other relevant studies and the implications.
Conclusion: summarizes the conclusion based on the major findings followed by recommendation.
Acknowledgment: should be in a separate page and must be brief and short.
References: Referred or quoted materials must be acknowledged, plagiarism is illegal and unethical. Direct quotation should be exact and as short as possible. The style of the referencing must be alphabetical order (i.e. APA style). For journal articles: Authors last names followed by year of publication, title, journal name, volume number, issue (if any) and page (for journal articles). For Standard books: Authors last names followed by year of publication, title of the book, publisher, edition number (if any), place published (city or country). For Book chapters: Authors last names followed by year of publication, title of the chapter, In: editors last names (eds.), title of the book (page range of the chpater in the book), publisher, edition number (if any), place published (city or country). Tables and Figures should be placed in their appropriate places with appropriate heading and legend arranged according to their sequential appearance indicated by Arabic numerals (such as 1, 2,3,4, etc.)not by Roman numerlas (I, II, III, IV, etc.).
Manuscripts for Review Articles should follow the format: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Body (i.e.breakdown of the review into major topics and subtopics), Conclusion, Acknowledgment, References. Please note that you do not write the term "Body" as a heading. Rather it is a part where you bring the various topics and subtopics of your review into play.
